Thursday, 3rd January, 2013: The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Mr. Richard Bruton, TD has appointed Professor Brendan Walsh as Chairperson of the Authority. The appointment has been made on foot of the expiration of the term of office of Ms. Karen Erwin.

The Minister also appointed Ms. Bernadette McGrory-Farrell and Mr. Paddy Keating to the Board. Ms. McGrory-Farrell has been appointed upon the nomination of the Prescribed Accountancy Bodies, and Mr. Keating on the nomination of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. These appointments have been made on foot of the expiration of the terms of Mr. Tony Kelly and Mr. Joe O’Toole respectively.
