How we use your information
The Authority seeks and retains certain personal data for certain elements of its work, for example complaints that are considered by our Conduct Unit, and the registration of certain categories of liquidators. The Authority has an email list of persons who have volunteered to receive alerts related to website updates. In addition the Authority collects and stores personal data (names, addresses etc.) through correspondence with third parties which it retains in accordance with its data retention policy. Personal data is retained only where the Authority deems it necessary for the carrying out of its statutory functions, or in relation to engagement with external service providers.
Sharing of personal data
The Authority may share personal data with third parties in accordance with the law, for example with other regulatory or enforcement authorities, or with certain third party service providers that provide services to our Conduct Unit. Any third parties are required to have appropriate safeguards in place to protect personal data.
Rights to data access and rectification/deletion of personal data
Any party in respect of whom the Authority has personal data has the right to request access to that data, and also to seek where appropriate the rectification and/or deletion of that personal data. Where that personal data has been provided on consent any party has the right to withdraw that consent. Access to personal data should be requested through the Data Protection Officer. Requests for personal data will be responded to within 30 days. IAASA may need to seek further information to identify your personal data and/or to verify your identity.
